CARSINGTON BIRD CLUB
Carsington Bird Club meets monthly during the winter months at Hognaston Village Hall start 7:30pm. The indoor meetings cost £1:00 for members and £1:50 for non-members. Membership costs are Single £5:00 and Family £7:50 for one full year. We have social meetings at Christmas and a barbecue in summer. Indoor meetings are held at the Chesterfield Library Theatre starting at 19:15. Entrance to indoor meetings is by donation, recommended donations are members £1:00 and non-members £2:00 under 16’s free of charge.
Payments for minibus or coach trips must be made when seats are booked. Only in very exceptional circumstances e.g. sickness will any refunds be made. Prices for trips marked TBA will be advised at a later date. All events, prices and dates are provisional and may be subject to change.

RSPB-MANSFIELD
Coach Trips-We regret that we cannot give prices in advance. These will depend on the length of the journey and the number of people going. The range is between £10 and £15. Please note the Mansfield Leisure centre pick-up point is in the Car park on Chesterfield Road south where there is a Sunday parking fee of £1:50. Downing Street Car park is in Sutton-in Ashfield, near New Cross. A deposit of £5:00 is required and this is only refundable if a cancellation is made giving a full week’s notice before the outing. Members must be ready to produce their RSPB membership cards when visiting RSPB reserves; failure to do so would mean the payment of the usual admission fee. Trips last a full day and friends and members are reminded to bring drinks and a packed lunch. We usually have a short comfort and coffee stop on the way to a site. Stout footwear is recommended, as is suitable clothing-warm and waterproof. The departure for home is around 4:30pm, but on trips when we leave very early in the morning, we would hope to leave a little before then to compensate. If the conditions are too bad for birdwatching there can also be an early return. New people are always welcome and it is not necessary to be a group member to get a taste of our trips. Don’t be put off if you feel you don’t know much yet-it’s a friendly group and there are birders of all levels of knowledge who will only be too pleased to help and advise. Indoor meetings-held at the William Kaye Hall, Ladybrook Lane, Mansfield on the first Thursday in the month at 7:00 for 7:30pm start. There is a break for refreshments about 8.15pm for tea/coffee and a biscuit, purchase of RSPB Sales Goods, Bird Foods (in season) plus a chance to meet people and have a chat. The meetings usually finish at about 9:30pm. Admission prices members £1:00, non-members £1:50, Children 50p. Non-members are always welcome, as are youngsters if the subject would interest them.

The club meets fortnightly between Sept and March at 7.30pm in the Shipley Country Park visitor centre ( The Green Room ). The indoor meeting’s fee is £1.50 incl. drink.
